It dawned on me today that we've not discussed Vets in Ilkley on im.com. There might be a reason for that and maybe I'll find out with this post!

I believe there are 2 (please correct me if I'm wrong) in Ilkley, White Cross and Ashlands. I've used both. We moved from White Cross several years ago because they couldn't diagnose the problem with my cat. So we took him to Ashlands who did a few tests and he is still here today, just. Here is my cat, Bud:

Over the years poor little Bud has had many problems with his bladder, teeth, a nasty cut from evil one eyed cat around the corner and last year he had a black lump on his back, which turned out to be a benign tumor, phew!

Thanks to Ashlands little Bud is still here (in fact sat just to my left as I type) keeping me company everyday while I work.

Prior to Buds little bladder problem, crystals was the problem if anyone is interested, the White Cross where fine. Had no complaints.
But then I had nothing to compare them to. Ashlands however we're better across the board. More thorough when examining, explained any problems in plain English, and cheaper!
Owner Andy is a really nice bloke and has fix and patched up Bud many a time. I cannot thank him enough for everything he as done for us.

So, believe it or not my vote goes to Ashlands! But I know there are a lot of pet owners out there so who do you use and what are your thoughts?

Had a nasty experience with White Cross (admittedly the Guiseley branch, and some time ago). Subsequently used Ashlands and found them to be very good in all respects. However I now find myself without pets, having replaced them with children instead.

Ashlands get my vote for sure!

They're great and really friendly. Andy especially is a brilliant vet.

I've only used Ashlands so can't compare - but am very happy. Andy wasn't too good with our dog in terms of handling her, but the bloke we see now (Aaron?) is great with her.

I also have friends who swapped from White Cross to Ashlands - not sure what their reason was - and are happy.

I had a stray cat come to my door one night, it looked like it had not been fed for 3 weeks!!
I fed it and kept it in but it didnt put any weight on so I took it to White Cross.
They found straight away he had an over active thyroyed, they corrected it and re-homed him, we called him zero as in size zero! I think they named him Arther!

I take my pets to Ashlands now just because they where a tad cheaper for my dogs vaccinations.
One of the guys seemed a bit hard sell but overall I think there ok.
