Greetings all..

I'm looking for a bass player in, or close to Ilkley to play in a new local 'rock band'.. I hate the term 'rock band', but I suppose it is absolutely essential to say it in case someone turns up with a cello expecting to play in a string quartet. I wouldn't want to disappoint you.

Age doesn't really matter, but the older the better.. I'm 27, the rest of the band are aged between 22 and 48. This should give a rough idea.

The broad age range translates to broad musical influences. But, if you're into any kind of rock, hard rock, metal, punk, folk and their infinite sub-genres, I'm sure we'll get along. There are a few exceptions though, Coldplay, or anything like that, is one. If you listen to anything remotely chart orientated, be prepared to fight your corner.

All of us have experience of playing in bands and performing, but it isn't necessary so don't be put off by that. As long as you can actually play, of course. I should say, we're not serious. Well, we are. What I mean is, we don't want to sign a contract with a major label, galavant around the world playing stadiums, driving Rolls Royces into hotel foyers, taking our body weight in acid on a daily basis and leaving a general trail of destruction behind us. As appealing as this may be, let's be realistic. This band is just purely for a laugh, gigging locally and doing what I presume you enjoy: playing music.
