Today was the first time I've been to the Great Yorkshire Show.

The day began in glorious sunshine, we watched some of the sheep classes, moved through the sheep pens, then the pigs & cattle classes followed by a bit of show jumping & then on to all the agricultural machinery, various pavilions & forestry area. I hadn't realised just how big a show it is. There is just so much to see. Great fun & totally knackering!

The first clap of thunder at around 3pm had people really moving.

When the heavens opened it wasn't quite as much fun - people left in their droves. In dodging the rain, we went into far more of the pavilions / tents etc., than we'd initially planned, but I was still disappointed by the lack of any covered walkways that would have allowed you to move from one bit of the show to another without getting totally drenched. Having paid £25 each it doesn't seem too much to ask, the pay back for the show would have been we'd have stayed for longer & bought more stuff.
