Born in Bradford moved to Baildon in the '60s.

In the 90s, we did a Tebbit-style flit to Bath, where we lived for six-and-a-bit years, which were great.

Then did another move, this time back to Yorkshire, where we settled in Ilkley. For all its faults, great and small, its home and we love it.

Yeah...why not?

Fine to be nosey .... but I'm still puzzled about the point of the survey?
How does it help to know the provenence of a random group of individuals mostly only known in cyberspace?

It's a harmles question Jasper. Calm down. It's a good way to encourage people to post.

I lived in Menston when I was born and moved to Ilkley when I was 9, I think. I lived there for a few years then moved to Scotland, Cornwall, Scotland again and finaly back to Ilkley when I was 16. Been here since and don't plan on leaving. :cheer:

I may have stayed in Ilkley, large parts of the 80's are at present hazy to me, but I am sure I have never lived there.

Probably like the majority of us, I'm from out of town. Came to Ilkley by serendipitous chance in 1999 and don't intend to leave.
Don't wish to give away my true identity (m'lady would not be impressed!), so will say no more...

Aha ..... A Michael Winner devotee, I see. Well, Im perfectly calm, my dear,& not in need of any insurance just now. I am, though, keen to see rather more interesting posts than a random list of addresses of people whose real identities, barring a few (such as yourself and Eileen McNab), are not known to me. :(

Exactly.

I was born in Hull of all places. My parents moved here when I was 8. So I've been here for 24 years now. Except for when I spent the best part of 2 years @ Sunderland Uni.
Like Parker I have no plans to leave, except for when I move to Ben Rhydding later this year. Which technically is still Ilkley. :)

I was 'born' under a mulberry bush, deposited , no doubt, by a passing stalk. I have no plans to leave Illkey and will resist any attempts to dislodge me .... but the grim reaper does not approve of my intention to hang on here and has other plans for me, ... in the meantime I spend my time window-shopping to try to find a suitable shroud for when the time comes. I fancy one with a white Yorkshire rose above the left eye-socket.

O.K. I was 'born' under a mulberry bush, deposited, no doubt, by a passing stalk. I have no plans to leave Illkey and will resist any attempts to dislodge me .... but the grim reaper does not approve of my intention to hang on here indefinitely and has other plans for me, ... in the meantime I spend my time window-shopping to try to find a suitable shroud for when the time comes. Three posts in one @750. I must be The Holy Trinity!! That scores higher than being resurrected even. I'd better get my Lottery ticket this week.
