Very sad. I didn't know him well but he was always cheerful, courteous & happy to chat. So, a great loss to his family & to Ilkley.

I spent 3 months with Julian in New Zealand in 1990 sharing a 'batch' whilst working in a winery and touring the South Island in a car - happy days and how I shall remember him. Vibrant, inspiring, energetic possibly over exhuberant on odd occasions, but thereby hangs the description of a unique special individual.
He will be missed by the many whose life he touched.

Julian was a nice chap, and the first sponsor of ilkley-more.com; way back when Woza and I used to pester girls for photographs in pubs - all in the rather dubious cause of i-m.c's 'Hot or Not' monthly competition! Below is a photo of JM presenting a very expensive bouteille de champers to one of our HoN winners, a prize donated gratis I hasten to add...

Very very sad to hear this news. Love to buy my wine from Martinez as it is such a wonderful shop to browse round. I never conversed too much with the chap but he was always cheerful and welcoming and provided excellent customer service. He helped to make it a pleasure to shop there.

He was a very close friend for 25 years. I have been completely gutted since I heard the news, and am having trouble typing this.

Julian you will be sorely missed by the many people that love you.
