First of all I’d like to wish you a very happy new year and a prosperous 2008!
Regular visitors to the site will know 2007 was a year of change for ilkley-more.com. In September we launched a complete overhaul of the site. After some helpful feedback and some adjustments I think everything is running pretty smoothly now.
The forums have been simplified and made easier to read and find the latest topics.
Since the re-launch we have introduced the events section a classifieds section and a new photo gallery.
I’m also please to announce over the Christmas period we have launched a new business directory and articles section.
Standard listings in the new business directory are still free and over the coming weeks we’ll be transferring over listings from the old directory.
Another new feature added to the site is the articles section. The site now allows you to submit your very own articles for everyone to read and discuss. Whether you want to write about an up and coming event, a review of a visit to a local attraction, event or night spot or maybe you are a budding journalist who wants to write about local news and issues. Whatever you want to say about the local area then ilkley-more.com is the place to say it.
If you are a budding photographer then the photo gallery is now fully functional and allows you to show off your photos to other users.
The events section is already being utilised to promote local events to a local audience.
The classifieds section is also fully operational. If you’ve got something to sell then ilkley-more.com Classifieds is the best place to advertise your items.
And don’t forget all our features are completely free! So whether you want to advertise your business, events or sell your old stuff it’s all free!
Finally just a quick note about what’s to come in 2008.
Coming in early 2008 will be ilkley-more Groups. With ilkley-more Groups you will be able to create your very own online group, perhaps for your local sports team, an activity group you run, like a computer club or walking club, etc. More details available on the web site soon.
Also to come in 2008 will be improved community features, much like you would find on popular social networking sites. A new games section will be arriving very soon. As will advertising opportunities to help increase your businesses exposure. plus much more, and of course the usual discussion and gossiping on the forums!
